Corby Petersen - MSW, LCSW
Master of Social Work - Brigham Young University
Bachelor of Psychology - Brigham Young University
Corby brings over 30 years of counseling experience to assist his clients. His diverse experience includes working with children, adults, couples and families.
After completing his education, he joined the U.S. Air Force as a Mental Health Officer and served as a Family Advocate Officer on multiple bases. Upon finishing his commitment to the Air Force, Corby spent thirteen years working in behavioral health and support through primary care for Southcentral Foundation before moving into the private group practice setting.
Corby joins The Talking Place to share his passion and expertise in working with children with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other forms of learning differences. It is a personal mission for Corby to serve people that share ADHD symptoms. He believes that psychotherapy can help many people unravel their challenges and build compensation strategies. He works from the premise that engaging the parents of children with ADHD is necessary for optimum success. He believes in helping each child to understand the nature of ADHD and neurodiversity, so they can apply solutions for themselves.
Corby believes that educating all family members to recognize these connections can collectively build understanding, lend support, and grow compassion for the struggles of neurodiverse clients. When Corby is not working, he enjoys time traveling and connecting with his family and friends.
