Laurie Hoyt – MSW, LCSW

Ms. Hoyt graduated from Western Connecticut State University with her BA degree in Psychology while working full time at Danbury Hospital as a Licensed practical Nurse.  Her work as a nurse helped to provide a broad range of knowledge, understanding of behavior and stress reactions.  In addition to Psychology, she also studied criminology while at Western Connecticut State University.  After her BA degree she continued with graduate studies at Fordham University in New York.  She was offered a second year internship at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut.   Ms Hoyt graduated with master’s in social work with a clinical concentration.  Ms. Hoyt views her time at Fordham as a gift due to the quality of education and internships.  Her experience at Fordham provided not only good choices of internships but also quality job offers after earning her MSW.  She currently holds licenses as a LCSW in Connecticut and Alaska and LPN in Connecticut.  She has had further opportunity working in a psychiatrist’s private practice from Yale New Haven Hospital.

Ms. Hoyt received training certificate at Walter Reed Medical Center in working with the military.  Other LCSW positions include agency, private practice, not for profits, medical/surgical clinics, hospital, requested presentations and other.  Clinical strengths include trauma, faith based, military, veteran, medical/surgical issues, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, mood, loss/grief, behavioral adjustments, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational enhancement, co-occurring and more.

Ms Hoyt works with ages 8 through senior, individual, couples, family, child, adolescents and groups.  Ms. Hoyt is warm, friendly, experienced and people feel safe with her.  She likes to walk trails, connect with family and friends, travel, explore and discover new places and things to do!
