Welcome to The Talking Place!

Our counseling practice began in 2008 as the solo practice of Dr. Deborah Spira, Child and Adolescent Counseling, P.C. The practice has grown and our name has changed, however, our services remain comprehensive, integrated and kindhearted. We strive to provide a forum where one can speak and be heard. This enables successful processing of life’s challenges. Everyone is invited whether shy, angry, autistic, troubled, disturbed, depressed, questioning sexuality and/or gender, struggling through changing family dynamics, or other life situation.

Our professionals are skilled at listening, educating, empowering and providing therapeutic guidance. We have created a safe and welcoming environment to explore, heal, improve and understand. Adding fun and humor into the overall process is something we do.

The unique forum required for positive growth benefits from the involvement and support of the family. We view the family system as a dynamic network of intertwined and interdependent relationships. Within this system we strive to facilitate healthy communication and wholesome authentic relationships.

We thank you for considering our office as a place for your child and family to improve, heal, and embrace your strengths and courage. Learn more about how we may be able to provide positive solutions to support and assist your child and family in being more successful at home, in school and in the community. Please feel free to contact us to discuss your family’s unique needs.
